Summary: SoftVu will not distribute, sell, or otherwise give any personal contact information given to it by a customer or prospect to an outside or third party.

SoftVu's Web site and applications utilize the latest in rich media technologies and occasional customer input forms to collect data and user requests.

Here is an overview of SoftVu's policies in regard to these items:

  • Rich Media Delivery
SoftVu's rich media presentations consist of either one or a combination of Macromedia Flash, streaming video (asf, wmv, or other standard Windows Media Player format), or streaming audio (wav, mpeg, or other standard format). In all rich media content delivery, a client's computer downloads data from SoftVu's servers and plays it within a browser, browser plugin, or other standalone application present on the machine. In no instance is data of any kind on a client computer transmitted back to SoftVu during a rich media presentation unless explicitly stated to the user by the SoftVu application.

  • Online forms (requests for more information, rich media presentations, support requests, etc.)
SoftVu requires registration for access to specified areas of its Web site on SoftVu.com. In these instances, a customer's personal contact information is secured by SoftVu and will not be distributed, sold, or otherwise given to a third party. SoftVu will contact customers who, by checking the appropriate boxes on the forms, knowingly "opt in" to mail lists or request a SoftVu representative to contact them.

  • System Check
SoftVu established its system check page to:
    1. Help a customer verify his or her computer is properly equipped before trying to access rich media presentations (animation, video, or audio) from SoftVu, or,
    2. Help a customer determine why his or her computer cannot properly display rich media content from a SoftVu-deployed application or Web site.

Upon loading the system check page, SoftVu checks the client computer for required Web and rich media software to determine if there are any potential compatibility issues with viewing rich media presentations. These items include:

    1. Connection speed
    2. Windows Media Player and version
    3. Flash Player and version
    4. Browser and version

No personal files or information are accessed or collected from a computer during this process.

  • Personal video and audio files (video interviews, video messages, audio messages, etc.)
Personal video files created with SoftVu's Capture station are secured by SoftVu and can only be accessed by the customer who created the content and the people expressly permitted to access them by the customer through SoftVu's applications such as TalentVu or Relay. SoftVu will not distribute, sell, or otherwise give these audio/video files to a third party. SoftVu will not use any audio or video file for promotion or training example without expressed permission from its creator.
