SoftVu's next major release, referred to internally as "Relay Evolution," introduces a new, advanced architecture, a significantly enhanced data model and a more intuitive user interface. The most significant deliverable is the standardization of the architecture on which the application modules depend. This new release's planned availability is Q1 2007. The diagram below illustrates the business capabilities of Relay Evolution’s new services along with the user interface layer and data layer.
- Relay Evolution introduces a Java-based, platform-independent Service-Oriented Architecture. SoftVu currently supports a service oriented framework, however much of the user interface depends on web code instead of the more standard business services available in this new release. The Business Services have been designed to offer the highest level of reuse across the platform.
- The platform independence developed with this release positions SoftVu to offer our solutions on virtually any platform. Services can be deployed across multiple hardware and operating systems which provides a significant scaling opportunity.
- Relay Evolution significantly enhances the Relay data model to allow for a more contact-centric model instead of the more email-centric model employed by classic Relay.
- Relay Evolution includes a dramatically changed user interface. The services-based architecture allows for reuse of the core components, simplifying the creation of applications. Under the new architecture, we deploy more applications tailored to the specific needs of each end user. Examples of the reuse of core capabilities across applications include the creation of a unique application workflow for eCards, newsletters, events, promotions, and landing pages and enhanced capabilities within the survey
- Capabilities of the system will include current Relay capabilities plus Template Builder, Forms Builder, Campaign Management, Website Design and Build, Workflow, Rules, Security, Authorization and much more.
